Product spotlight: Danalock V3 Smart Door Lock

Looking for a door lock with a difference? Then look no further, the Danalock V3 is the wireless smart door lock for you. You can easily control this smart door lock from your smartphone, whether you are at home or away at work.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the unique features of this automated minimalist designed lock.

Accessing your Danalock v3

Once it is integrated into your smart home security system, the wireless smart lock lets you easily control access through your smartphone. This includes providing temporary or permanent digital 'keys' to family, friends, guests and even contractors. Through the app, it will notify you when it has been in use by any of your authorised users. To give it that extra smart home feel, the DanalockV3 can sense your arrival and can automatically unlock the door for you. A HUGE help if you find your hands full from the day’s shopping. Just make sure to activate it to re-lock after closing.

Integrate to your Smart Home

The Danalock V3 is an incredibly versatile and flexible platform currently available, making it easy to integrate into your smart home. It comes available in 4 options, depending on what you already have (or don’t have) at home. Choose between a standalone Bluetooth mobile app or with either Apple HomeKit, Zigbee or Z-Wave smart home integration.

Danalock Apple HomeKit

This version of the Danalock can be fully integrated into your HomeKit home automation ecosystem. The Apple HomeKit allows personalisation and can be easily connected to work alongside other HomeKit accessories such as lighting, switches, cameras. The quick lowdown:

  • Requires iOS 9.0 or later
  • The only version that is compatible with Apple Watch
  • Works with Siri voice commands
  • Need to share access to your HomeKit app in order to share digital keys
  • Works with Apple’s automation features

  • Danalock Bluetooth and Z-wave

With this version, you can connect to other Z-Wave accessories, using a Z-Wave hub. The added bonus is you can also use your smart lock with a Bluetooth enabled device. Setting up for access to a Z-Wave gateway is straight forward. Go to your Danalock app, select ‘Device’ > ‘Z’Wave’ > ‘Connect’. Remember to set your gateway to Inclusion mode. Your smart lock should be no more than 1 metre away from your gateway. It can take time to pair, so patience is required.

But if you are feeling a bit sceptical about your own DIY skills, get a local Master Locksmith to do hard work for you. Danalock also provides a fantastic support site, where you can find help in mounting guides, app guides, click commands and the trusty FAQ and manuals.

    Strong security

On the outside, your front door looks like any other front door on your street. No need to change the door handle or door lock on the outside of your door. Plus, with the Danalock V3 attached on the inside, your door won’t scream techie or being a part of a smart home. Accidentally left your phone at your friend's house? Or maybe forgotten to replace the battery to your Danalock V3? No problem, you can manually open your front door with your house key. Whatever you do, don’t throw those front door keys away. Instead, consider getting a key box for your spare keys instead. Hide your key box out of sight.

Lastly, by having the lock installed on the inside, your smart lock isn’t susceptible to the outside elements or vandalism.
