Reolink has spent over 10 years in perfecting their lines of security cameras for both home and commercial spaces. These cameras are also the perfect choice for DIYers as it makes for easy installation and mobile app pairing and the Reolink wireless cameras are no exception.
The only question remains, with so much variety in cameras available, which one is the right one for me? Here we go through some of the most popular and versatile models.
Reolink Argus PT
The Reolink Argus PT is the go-to choice for those with expansive properties. Use this to monitor an entire stretch of the corridor outside of your Queenslander home. Or basically, any wide expanse area can be monitored with its wide 105° viewing angle. To add to this, it has a pan of 355° and a tilt of 140°, so it gets a big tick in terms of flexibility.
Pairing your wifi to the Reolink Argus PT is easy, simply scan the barcode to begin the installation. Plus, by doing this step first, it gives you a better indication of how far away you can set up your camera from your internet router. Instructions say no more than 80m, but this can vary depending on how thick and how many walls the signal needs to go through. The better solution? Get yourself a wifi extender such as the Netgear wifi range extender to boost the signal.
This camera comes with a rechargeable lithium battery, that normally lasts between 4 - 6 months in standby mode. The battery life does vary based on usage, temperature and strength of wifi connectivity. But don’t worry, the Reolink app will alert you when the battery is down to 10%.

It will work rain or shine, in cold or hot weather.
The rechargeable 3.4V lithium battery will normally last for about 2 months in standby mode. But, access the camera through your phone’s app for a live feed, playback or configure the camera to record on motion, the battery will last approximately 500 minutes. Reolink Go will send you notifications of when the battery goes down to 10%. Just like its cousins, the Reolink Go connects to a solar panel via a micro USB port. So no more having to worry about low battery. Plus, it gets a big thumbs up for all those eco-minded people out there.

Reolink Argus Eco
Still a bit confused about which camera is the right one for you? Or maybe these are a bit too much for what you need? Maybe you’re after a basic security camera that is quick and easy to install. The Reolink Argus Eco is the place to start. It takes only five minutes to install, and pairs to the mobile app in under two minutes. A minimum of 2.4 GHz wifi connectivity is required to operate smoothly. This will then avoid those nasty lags occurring in your feed.
The Argus Eco is the cheapest in the range, but that doesn’t mean it is any less feature-packed than other Reolink cameras. It has 1080p full HD, and 6x digital zoom, just to name a few. The Reolink app will notify you via email and via push notifications of any suspicious movement. It also comes with a super handy trick to deter thieves from stealing your parcels. To start with, record your own alert message via the app. Then, when motion is detected, your pre-recorded message is played out over the high-quality speaker. It also has a built-in microphone, so you can even hear what they have to say for themselves as well as having a two way conversation.
