Igloohome Mortice Lock

Whether you are sick of carrying around keys or looking for a keyless option, Smart locks are the one for you. Install it for your forever home, holiday home property or even your up-for-sale property; it's the perfect match. Plus, the Igloohome Smart Mortice Lock comes with a bundle of convenient features that make this the perfect front door lock for secure and safe access. Here are several reasons why this was the chosen front door lock for this year's contestants on The Block.

How do you access it?

The best feature about the Igloohome Mortice Lock is that you can access your property in several ways. From contactless to pin, here are the options you have available. The question is, then how will YOU access?

Bluetooth: download the app, have it open and press to unlock. You must have iOS 11 and above or Android 6 and above.
PIN: Choose a PIN between 6-8 digits whilst having the master Bluetooth device within range. Or let the app choose for you, from wherever you are in the world.
Fob card: The third option is the classic fob card; this lightweight card measuring 45mm x 18mm fits snugly onto your keychain. This option is exclusive to the Mortice Lock with 2 provided and the ability to purchase extra when needed.
Fob sticker: Just like using the fob card, tap it against the front panel. Attach the fob sticker to literally anything. Add up to 16 fob cards/stickers to your Mortice Lock.
Mechanical keys: We know what you’re thinking; it doesn’t need keys! The answer to that is yes, it does. It’s always good to have a backup option. What if you haven’t replaced the battery soon enough? Or you have left behind your phone and haven’t set yourself up for PIN? The mechanical key is the one to fall back on, so keep this key safe and secure at all times. The added bonus is this is a difficult to copy key, as it is engraved on all FOUR sides. This is indeed one very unique looking key.

But... there's no wifi?! How?

Remember how we said earlier that the Igloohome home provides you with secure and safe access? Well, Igloohome wasn’t kidding. The safe form of access comes from the lack of wifi connectivity. Igloohome believes that by working offline, the lock has better security and reliability.

Their unique AlgoPIN uses technology similar to that of a banking token’s One Time PIN. Basically, begin with pairing your Igloohome Smart Mortice Lock with the app on your smartphone. Once successful, your smartphone will sync the unique PIN token to Igloohome’s secure cloud server. This means that the token doesn’t need to be kept locally. When creating a PIN, your app will send a request to your token in the cloud server. A unique and random PIN is generated using various algorithms. The validity duration is also built into the PIN code. This means that you do not need to be within Bluetooth range of your lock to do this. However, if you want to create your own PIN, make sure you are within Bluetooth.

In other words, if your home is in an area where there is poor or no wifi connectivity, then this is the one for you. Your lock can work smoothly regardless of the state of your wifi. You can find more about algoPIN, here.

What's in the box?
